Lightweight leather helmet cover for a CPSC rated safety helmet (included) that meets all requirements for SCA Mounted Combat regulations. Helmet fits Large to Xlarge (23 3/8 to 24 3/4"). A velcro patch is on the top to mount a detachable Crest. The helmet offers good head protection from falls or off target sword blows and provides good visibility.
The leather helm itself is black 12-14 oz sole leather . The leather helm is riveted together and this design is proven to withstand heavy boffer blows of mounted combat,falls from horseback and impact from foam jousting.
This is a Period alternative to mundane riding helmets and looks even better when you attach your own torse, mantle or plumes. Basic helms are $125.00. Simple profile crests are $50.00. Additional painting of your device on helm are available for a fee. Prices for custom helms or crests can be negotiated.
